Enhancement Requests
Summary
Customer satisfaction is top priority for Stibo Systems. When customers make software enhancement requests, Stibo Systems works diligently to meet their business needs. Many of the changes available in 10.1 are implemented as solutions to these requests and outlined below.
Additional customer-requested enhancements not listed below may have been completed as part of previously planned roadmap-driven projects, as well as for specific product lines and/or customers, and are therefore not globally applicable.
Details
Solutions are listed below with the parent release note indicated.
- A new metadata attribute solution is available for creating user-friendly error messages for all attribute validation errors, which is especially useful for more complex validations such as regular expression.
- Support for rendering multiple image tags in text-based attributes in InDesign.
- For users with the STEP Single Sign On - SSO commercial license activated, it is now possible to log out of the Stibo Systems Enterprise Platform (STEP) without logging out of the IDP. This logout option will invalidate the STEP session and present a successful logout page on the STEP side while the IDP remains logged in. To enable this configuration, set ‘SAML.IdentityProvider.[ConfigName].GlobalLogoutDisabled’ (where ConfigName is an entry from ‘SAML.IdentityProviders.Names’) to ‘true.’
- In workbench, when a change is made to a privilege, the log specifies exactly what occurred.
Read more about these in the General Enhancements and Changes release note here.
The following changes are described further in the Web UI Enhancements and Changes release note here.
- The 'Run Business Action' component now supports localized messages shown to users based on the selected locale.
- Enhancements to the Run Business Action (formerly Business Action with Web UI Bind) include three parts: ability to configure a confirmation dialog is shown upon clicking the button before the business action is executed; toolbar activation so that it is possible to use action to create new objects; a new optional parameter is added to the component to allow a business condition to determine whether the button is shown or not.
- Improved mapping of LOVs in Simple Import Widget.
- Updated the Summary Cards for Node Details screens to display the user name (or ID if no name is present) of the user who last edited the object being viewed (instead of just displaying the date).
- Several Web UI components were missing the inheritance indicators for both attributes and references, particularly when in Node Lists. These have been updated so that the inheritance arrow is present for both hierarchical and context inherited values and references.
- Object names will now display instead of their IDs in four scenarios as specifically described in the 'More consistent display of names in Web UI' subheader.
- The 'References' and the 'ReferencedBy' criteria in the Web UI Advanced Search have been updated to include a new 'Search Below' option.
- Users can now easily reset forgotten passwords via the Web UI.
- It is possible in the Web UI to add users to groups when creating a new user and also to add or remove users from groups on the User Details screen.
- Search Screen improvements for faceted search include the ability to search for blank facets and uploaded files can be searched by name instead of a list of IDs. Also, the 7.9.1 version of Elasticsearch and Kibana are supported.
- Users are now able to change the locale of the Web UI being viewed without having to log out.
- The Sequence Display Mode on a Node List in Web UI is now extended to support classifications.
- Users can export data from Node Lists that include, for example, a parent or grandparent. A new table header can return the node from a business function.
- It is now possible to open an object from a Task List in a new tab on a web browser.
- Improved messages are available for workflow errors and warnings.
Details on the bullets below can be found in the Data Exchange Enhancements and Changes release note here.
- BMEcat users can now map eCatalogs in an OIEP and Export Manager so that commercial terms can be included in exports.
- A new default file name template will be applied for several delivery methods. For new exports or outbound integration endpoints, admin users will need to change the file name template if they do not want the new default. Without user intervention, existing delivery methods are not changed.
- Now, when a business condition running during import in an IIEP or Import Manager rejects an item because it did not meet the condition, the execution report can log a warning instead of an error.
- It is possible to configure Smartsheet exports to use the same mandatory flags on attributes and reference types that are maintained in workbench and make those attributes and references mandatory in Smartsheets.
- Support for exporting / importing image conversion configurations and asset push configurations when using the STEPXML format is now available. Additionally, image conversion configuration IDs are no longer automatically auto-generated; instead, users can now choose to have image conversion configuration IDs auto-generated or provide the IDs manually.
- Workbench users can export Background Process (BGP) execution reports as a CSV file as well as an HTML file, and users can also select a zipped CSV file for certain execution reports.
The Enhanced Translation Functionality release note (here) expands on the next bullet.
- Several translation functionality updates were made including the added ability to save configurations to be used later, and the ability to exclude attributes from translation requests.
