Description

Publication group

A publication group is a container for publications and templates (product, publication, and page).

Publication

A publication is a collection of the different versions and sections of a publication.

Commercial data

The commercial data folder stores commercial data lists and is automatically generated when a publication is created. For more information, refer to the Commercial Data section of the Publisher (Adobe InDesign Integration) documentation here.

Commercial list

Commercial data lists. The currency icon (top icon on the left) is typically used for price lists, while the generic list icon (bottom icon on the left) can be used for any type of commercial data values. For more information, refer to the Commercial Data section of the Publisher (Adobe InDesign Integration) documentation here.

Version

Publication versions hold different variants of the same publication. Each publication can have one or more versions that specify a specific context, workspace, and one or more commercial lists, if applicable.

Section and subsection

A section is a container for subsections and DTP (InDesign) documents. Additionally, products, assets, and/or classifications are linked into sections from the Tree to organize content for the publication.

DTP documents

DTP documents are InDesign pages that have been finalized and saved back to STEP.

DTP page

A page within the DTP (InDesign) document.

Publication Template

InDesign documents that serve as the foundation of publications created with STEP. They define the document size, margins, paragraph styles, character styles, table rules, swatches, page numbers, and so forth that are used throughout a publication.

Product Template

InDesign documents that are used with publication templates to roughly plan the layout of finalized pages and organize the STEP attributes, assets, tables, and additional stylistic elements that comprise product presentations.

Page Template

Templates created in STEP that determine the frame layout of Flatplans. (Flatplanner only)

Planned page (spread)

Page designer tool used in Flatplanner, where page template frames are applied. Can be single pages or double pages. When using double pages, the planned page is referred to as a spread. (Flatplanner only)
