STEP Release and End-of-Life Information

This topic contains details around the cadence of STEP releases, and baseline end-of-life information for the STEP versions listed.

Release Frequency

STEP releases are identified by year and quarter to align with the quarterly release cadence. The first four digits (ex: 2023) indicate the year of the release. The last digit (4) indicates the calendar quarter. For example, 2023.4, 2024.1, 2024.2, and so on.

Quarterly releases mean a shorter time to market so that you can take advantage of new capabilities faster. It also means faster market feedback leading to an improved overall quality. By releasing quarterly, Stibo Systems can be responsive to changing market conditions and quickly enhance our solution to best fit your needs. With a quarterly release cycle and automated updates (currently applicable to our SaaS v2 customers), Stibo Systems aims to make upgrades seamless so that you always benefit from our latest technology.

  • Q1 releases are targeted for the third week of March.

  • Q2 releases are targeted for the first week of June.

  • Q3 releases are targeted for the fourth week of September.

  • Q4 releases are targeted for the second week of December.

STEP Versions and Support End Dates

Starting with the 2024.1 release, Stibo Systems provides support for the latest two versions for SaaS v2 systems. Support time varies for on-premises and SaaS v1 systems. Odd-numbered releases (i.e., 2023.3, 2024.1) are short-term releases and are supported for one year. Even-numbered releases (i.e., 2023.4, 2024.2) are long-term releases where support is gradually decreased to one year.

For those versions without a specific date below, the months listed are from the customer release date.

Customers should update as soon as possible to the latest release of Stibo Systems Enterprise Platform (STEP). Contact your Stibo Systems account manager or partner manager, or the support department, if you have questions and/or to receive help and guidance on how to update to a supported release.

Software errors reported for the versions shown above may be rejected after the listed effective dates. Application support issues in progress for the releases being desupported will be closed on the desupport date. It is not possible to extend the support services for desupported versions.

SaaS customers can refer to the Software Release Updates section of the SaaS - Technical Datasheet (part of your contracting information). For on-prem customers, Stibo Systems was contracted (under Supported Versions) to support major STEP versions for three calendar years from the release date. Those contracts are honored via the deadlines outlined above and the notice being given here.
