Product Data Exchange (PDX) Enhancements
2023.0 (11.0) Enhanced Features
Enhanced features for this release of PDX include a new channel, the addition of a Digital Catalog API, and improved scheduled auto-submissions. These enhancements support effective product content creation for syndication and facilitate improved collaboration between retailers and vendors to produce the best experience for customers.
New channel development
This release includes the development of new channels for Amazon, a second Canadian Tire channel, and the delivery of the Marks & Spencer channel. The addition of these new channels should result in greater adoption of PDX as a complete syndication solution as well as provide expanded global coverage with our new channels from Canada and the UK.
-
Following the announcement by Amazon of the move from their existing gateway, AFS, PDX will be migrating to the new Seller Partner API used by Amazon. The new API gives PDX clients unified access to both the Vendor Central and Seller Central areas of the Amazon platform.
-
A second Canadian Tire channel will be delivered, representing the core Canadian Tire Stores. The first channel supports two of the banners under the Canadian Tire banner that sell apparel and sporting goods. The new channel represents the core Canadian Tire stores that carry a wider range of products.
-
The Marks & Spencer channel has also been delivered. Marks & Spencer will be using PDX Onboarding for its national brands.
The PDX Direct Channels commercial license is required to use these channels.
Digital catalog API creation
With this initiative, retailers can now search, browse, select, and then retrieve the desired product information directly from the PDX Digital Catalog into their internal systems through an API. This removes the manual step of downloading the product information and uploading it in the downstream systems and provides a unified solution to structure, validate, and share content with retailers.
The PDX Digital Catalog commercial license is required for the functionality described above.
Scheduled auto-submissions increased flexibility
PDX will be adding new timing options and introducing a set of new rules that allows customers to schedule and retain better control over their submissions to retailers. The new timing options not only will allow for different frequencies but also will afford choices as to what type of products are included in each submission. Users can submit on a monthly or bi-monthly basis instead of only a weekly basis, and the new set of rules will allow the users to determine if all products should be included in the submission or only the products that have been updated since the last submission. The new options and rules will be supported in complex channels, which cover channels with multiple markets and/or receivers, e.g., Configured Channels with multiple receivers, our Brandbank channel that has multiple Subscriber Codes, or 1WorldSync, which also has markets and receivers. This improved auto-submission process gives customers better control, allowing customers independence in the submission process.
The PDX Direct Channels or Configured Channels commercial license is required for the above functionality.
