Import Data Screen

Products and their data can be imported into PDX in the following ways:

  • Imports from Stibo Systems PMDM or PIM Application: To learn more about these imports, please refer to STEP online help.

Note: When augmenting existing master data through the regular product import, a common "ID" must be identified in all spreadsheets so that PDX can connect the new data to existing products. If you are using data from both STEP and external sources using spreadsheets, the common 'ID' must be the STEP ID.

Regular Product Import (Spreadsheet)

The regular product import can be used to upload new products and their data and/or modifications to existing products.

First, select 'Import data' from the left-hand menu (1). Then upload the file or drag and drop the file into the window (2).

Next, select the import type. Key-based import is the default selection, and it is the import type used for the regular import process. Click the 'Next' button.

The spreadsheet will appear as the uploaded file, with summary information below. To continue, click the 'Next' button.

Additional settings for Auto assignment and Auto submit are defaulted to 'Disabled.' Enable if those options are desired. Click the 'Next' button to continue.

The process will automatically go to the Mappings section of the import flow. Verify or update mapping information and click the 'Apply' button.

The final screen will ask you to confirm the data import. If import information is correct, click 'Ok.' Once the import has been completed, you will be returned to the landing page. Uploaded products can be viewed in Master data.

Match-based Product Import (Spreadsheet)

Match-based import can allow users to augment additional data to existing items that are already in PDX based on matching values for a single attribute that exists in PDX as well as in the import spreadsheet. The match-based import is for augmenting or updating existing products only as this process will not import new products.

The number of products affected by the match-based import is identified.

In the spreadsheet example below, all existing products in PDX with a Style ID that matches any of the values listed in the spreadsheet column 'STYLE ID' will be identified by the import process. Those identified products with matching 'Style ID' values will have their attribute values updated based on the data contained in the imported spreadsheet. In this instance, the values contained in the 'Country of Origin' and 'Sellable in Store' columns will overwrite the existing values or create new values for those attributes in the products with the matching 'Style ID' value.

Note: The attribute values from the match identifier column will not be affected by the match-based import.
