Events

Within STEP, an event indicates data has been changed. An event triggered automatically is known as a Core Event. For more information, refer to the Core Events section here.

Optionally, events can be manually generated based on some system action or setup (e.g., business rules, a post-processor on an OIEP, a derived event, and some event handlers can cause events to be generated). For more information, refer to the Derived Events section here.

Events are processed via event queues which are automatically created when an event-based outbound integration endpoint (OIEP) is created. For more information, refer to the OIEPs topic in the Data Exchange documentation here. Legacy functionality allows manually creating a data event queue, as defined in the Creating a New Event Queue topic here.
