STEP components include:
- Core functionality: the STEP version, e.g., STEP 2024.2, STEP 2024.3, etc.
- Hotfixes (optional)
- Monthly Patches (optional)
- Custom Extensions (optional)

Considerations
- The DTAP street needs to be based on the same components. The Development, Test, Acceptance, and Production system should be based on the same components and versions. If not, at a minimum, ensure the baseline is the same on all environments.
- Consider that there can be unnecessary components on the STEP system after an upgrade. It may well be that after an upgrade, some of the hotfixes are not needed anymore. Read the Update Notes carefully to be sure that all unnecessary components are removed.
